On the 8th October 2020, a groundbreaking piece of research lead by DRILL Research projects (Disability Research on Independent Living and learning) and Peter Unwin, Principal Lecturer in Social Work at the University of Worcester launches.

Liverpool Foster Carer, Alison contributed to the project entitled 'Mutual Benefits: The Potential of Disabled People as Foster Carers'.

Earlier today Alison spoke to BBC Radio 4 Women's Hour, about her own experiences of fostering as a wheelchair user, including some initial challenges and inspirational achievements.

"Because of what I have been through, and coping with disability on a day-to-day basis, I was well placed to understand the needs of a child and find ways to do things slightly differently."
