We run a 10 week Nurturing course for some of our foster carers and we're delighted to have such positive feedback.
The course covers a range of topics including rewards and consequences, communication and development, helping children grow up and problem-solving and negotiating. It's delivered enthusiastically by our family support worker Anne, who has lots of passion, patience and energy for supporting our foster carers.
Here's what they had to say...
“I have found the Nurturing course to be informative and beneficial. The tutor’s knowledge has been good and delivered at an appropriate level – so beginners and the more experienced get lots from the sessions. There's also the added bonus of new friends and a support network!” - Mamie
“The course has been brilliant thus far; I've learnt so much especially being new to fostering. The course content is great, but it would not be half as effective, if it wasn't delivered with Anne's style and verve” – Tahir
“Thank you so much, this course is helping me keep focused and is supportive in relation to keeping a positive relationship with my young person. With this course I’ve realised that when a young person comes into care late. That nurturing them back to childhood is just has important to nurturing a baby and young child through their milestones... I am enjoying the course and the carers are so friendly and Anne is a great facilitator” - Rose
“The course is very informative I have found it extremely useful with my girls, It is well paced, and easy to follow. Love the activities, and seeing the positive outcomes when I apply what I’ve learnt” - Maria
