Fostering Refugee Children in Liverpool

A Safe Space in a New Place

Every child deserves a safe, caring place to call home — especially those who have fled war, persecution, or violence. In Liverpool, we’re looking for compassionate people to open their homes and hearts to refugee children who arrive in the UK alone, without family or support.

These children are just that — children. Many are teenagers who have experienced unimaginable trauma. Some have been trafficked or exploited. All of them need stability, kindness, and the chance to rebuild their lives.

Why Refugee Children Need You

Refugee children often arrive in the UK without parents or guardians. They may have lost their families or been sent away for their own safety. They come from countries like Sudan, Syria, Afghanistan, Eritrea, and Iran — places affected by conflict and crisis.

They need:

  • A safe and welcoming home
  • Support to settle into education or training
  • Help adjusting to life in a new country
  • Encouragement to build independence and confidence

Could You Provide a Safe Space in a New Place?

If you think you could offer a home to a refugee child or teenager, we’d love to hear from you. Your support could change a life — and enrich your own.

  • Specialist training on supporting refugee children
  • Ongoing support from experienced professionals
  • Guidance on cultural awareness and communication
  • Information about each child’s background and legal status
  • An age-related child’s allowance and a professional fee payment
  • A setup fee of up to £500
  • 100% Council tax exemption
  • Lifestyles Leisure Passes for the whole household

Who Can Foster?

You can foster if you:

  • Are over 21
  • Have a spare room
  • Can offer a stable, caring environment
  • Are open to learning and supporting a young person’s journey

Whether you live alone, with a partner, or have children of your own — you could be the person a refugee child is waiting for.
